The Manor Bremond College Part 1
The manor is located at the top of Stivichall Croft on the left as you approach the Leamington road. The land was obtained by Arthur Gregory in the 1500’s. Styvechale Manor originally name as “Hall House” in 1619 as part of the Gregory estate.
The first record is from the 13th century. 18h &19th century saw some developments. Its original use was as home for the tenant farmers who worked for the Gregory family who lived in Styvechale Hall.
In 1935 the Manor was purchased and developed into college, the founders wanted to promote the College to well to do families and decided on the name Bremond as an elegant Anglo-French sounding name. Bremond College was granted grade II listing on the 24th of June 1974.
The College closed on the 11th of December 1996. Bremond College reverted back to The Manor and is used as private apartments.
