Neighbourhood Watch
Fireworks are exciting, but a criminal record isn't.
We strongly recommend attending a professional display and avoid having your own displays at home.
Setting off fireworks in public places, including parks and streets IS illegal. It could land you with a criminal record or an unlimited fine.
A criminal record could seriously derail your:
Future international travel & visas
Career prospects and job applications.
Fireworks can be used in the UK any time from 7 am to 11pm. Exceptions are Bonfire night: 7 am to midnight New Year's Eve, Diwali and Chinese New Year: 7 am to 1am.
You'll see more officers out on patrol around antisocial behaviour hot spot areas. If you spot anyone misusing fireworks or aiming them at buildings, people, or vehicles, report it to us on 999.
