MATTERS ARISING –
Meeting between Mattie Heaven and the headmaster to discuss parking has not yet taken place. Regarding parking and speeding. Residents in Wade Avenue have asked for the 20mph speed limit to be put in place. Mark Hughes will contact the School Headmaster on behalf of the residents. The 20mph speed limit around the school has little effect on speed unless it is combined with other measures. Mick and John met with Daz the new business manager at the school to discuss the best way to pay for the room, It was proposed to be quarterly in cash. To save on cost it was agreed that were possible we would hold meeting to coincide with the governors meeting. As this is not a monthly meeting we will continue to hold our meetings on the first Thursday of the month. BTH care takers cost was quoted at £50 for the meeting to open and close the school. SGRA could be a useful tool in supporting and marketing the school. A proposal from the room was that we could invite the governors to our meeting. Our next meeting is on the 10th of Dec.
LOCAL POLICE UPDATE – The PACT meeting was attended by John, two Councillors, four residents and two PCSO’s .Finham Library would probably charge for the meeting to be held there. Crime figures- 445 July. 410 August. These are up in September possibly due the University opening and freshers being targeted. The hot summer encouraged people to leave windows and doors to be left open, this could be a cause.
